Lufia 2 ~ In-Depth Review

Lufia 2 is a quintessential 90s JRPG. It does what the golden era JRPGs do and does them pretty well. It even has some surprising twists like a 99-floor roguelike optional dungeon or the skill ring that resets dungeon puzzles. I’d say the motto I have finishing up Lufia 2 is, “I came for the JRPG, I stayed for the excellent puzzles.” Though, that doesn’t paint the full picture. Trails in the Sky 3 ~ In-Depth Review

… it’s arguably the most character-centric entry in the franchise … Door scenes are tremendous; truly some of the most impressive storytelling across the entire Trails series …Not a lot of grinding in this one, which is great, though the last dungeon is a bit overtuned difficulty-wise … There’s just a ton of variety here, so many builds you can do and teams to try out due to the sheer size of the character roster.

All in all, rather than being dated and rotted, this pineapple under the sea still has flavor and color to it. It’s not a particularly complex or intricate pineapple, but it’s of good quality and delights. My score of +4 may not seem like too much, but it’s because the game was incredibly consistent in its experience. It’s like a fun smooth ride without too many bumps or exciting hills.
